Photo Recap of Venice

We spent the weekend exploring Venice, also known as “The Floating City,” the “City of
Bridges,” and the “City of Canals.” Venice is comprised of over 100 small islands (separated by canals) and over 400 bridges (you will see some in our photos below). Our journey started as a single day field trip with Florence University of the Arts, and we extended the fun into a three-day weekend in order to enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of this beautiful city. Check out some of our favorite photos below.

Hannah Zaininger: "Enjoying the beautiful canals in Venice."
Hannah Calvert: "This canal sure is {grand}."

Anyia Clayton: "Peeking over the bridge at the edge of the water."

Holly Jones: "Our stunning first view of Venice after stepping out of the train station."

Morgan Boncyk: "Caffe Florian, Venice (1720) is the second oldest coffee shop in the world that is still in operation today."

Alyssa Miller: "Yoga on a gondola = yogandola?"

Chandler Dykstra: "Trying on the Venetian masks."

Jalynn Evans: "A relaxing evening gondola ride with the girls!"

Audrey Rehberg: "Enjoyed sitting by the canal, feeling the breeze, and watching all of the boats and cruise ships pass by."

Students: What should we do tonight in Venice?
Dr. DeMaria: Whatever floats your gondola!

Laura Long: "Sculpture by Lorenzo Quinn highlighting the consequences of climate change and the rising water levels in Venice."

Taylor Quarles: "Venice at night is beautiful (and way less hot)."

Sydney Rivera: "Escaped the city for a few hours to experience the real 'Venice Beach.'"

Kelsie Basile: "Venetian beauty."

Julia Stone: "Spent the day at The Venice Biennale Art Festival!"

We are looking forward to another week in Florence. Thank you for following along with our journey!
